i'm sure none of you care that i haven't updated my blog in nearly six months, so i won't even bother apologizing.
turns out at my new house blogspot kills my internet. as in the internet freezes up and stops working, you must go unplug the router, wait two minutes, plug in the router, and begin the process again approximately every 5 minutes. with that being said, my laziness and technological frustration overwhelm my desire to blog on here, so i just haven't.
there has been little to blog about on here anyways, as this always just served as my frivolous little getaway for all things fashiony and artsy and pretty and whatnot, but as i don't have time for such getaways as of late, it has come to be pointless.
because of the above listed reasons, i only have two more things to say before i retire this blog indefinitely (maybe until i get new internet, maybe forever, maybe til tomorrow...it really doesn't matter to me or you so why try to put a date on it, eh?).
1. i've begun sewing again lately, and its delightful. there's nothing quite like the whir of a sewing machine and a hot cup of tea on a dreary day, and thus i'm beginning to think sewing may be a good way to put me in my happy place this winter. in a career of an abstract nature (like social work) that deals with abuse and trauma and sadness that you have no control over on a daily basis, i believe doing work with my hands is one of the greatest things i can do for myself.
also, the feeling of wearing something you made/altered/spent a good deal of time on is an odd sort of confidence boost, so that can't hurt, right?
all that to say, i'm sewing again, i like it, i'm going to keep doing it until i don't like it anymore.
2. i've been blogging a bit of my random thoughts over on my tumblr on a fairly regularly basis (as it does not ritually slaughter my internet access) so if you care to read them you can find me there.
this had absolutely no point other than the fact that today i remembered i had abandoned this little guy for awhile.

pantalones
its weird, because all winter long i'm always dying for warm weather, but all i want to buy or wear right now are pants.
i bought an awesome pair of trousers at Gap last week, and i would kill for below-90 weather so i could actually wear them without dying of heat stroke.
how fantastic are those three bottom pairs of trousers?! especially those blue ones....oooh, what i wouldn't give.....
i need fall soon.

Mumford & Sons - The Banjolin Song / Awake my soul - A Take Away Show #105 from La Blogotheque on Vimeo.
tell me their music doesn't make you want to cry out of sheer beauty and i'll tell you you're lying.

go here, right now
watch the video, right now.
believe in the most precious, wonderful kind of love you can imagine, right now.
seriously obsessed with this wedding and couple. i've seen few things in the world more fantastic than this.

the world cup:
(i just love it when they dog pile)
anything k'naan, but mostly this song, because of the aforementioned world cup
sad thing is, besides the world cup, i have none of the above currently in my life, and that one is about to be gone too.
ah well, c'est la vie.
