i've got a crush

confession: i have an ENORMOUS girl crush on grace potter. 

it all started two years ago at rites of spring, and it hasn't stopped since. in fact, its grown.

and its not just the fact that her music/voice/writing is an insanely good bonnie-raitt-meets-lucinda-williams kind of sound. 

or the fact that she's a total babe. 

both true. 

its more of the total vibe--the band's aesthetic, her killer personal style, the fact that she looks like she doesn't give a damn but is sexy regardless. the type of girl who never spends more than 10 minutes getting dressed. the kind of girl everyone wishes they were. 

i'm just saying....i'm not promising i'd go gay for her or anything.

but i might.

southern hospitality

Savannah, Georgia. My new city love and the cutest little historic southern town you've ever seen. 

here are some little bits of inspiration I picked up on my weekend trip there with Mom.

i need it badly. i mean, REALLY badly. i'm partially stir crazy, and in many ways, just plain going crazy, but i have faith that with a little spring weather, my mood will come around. 

spring has me thinking of things like this:

driving with my windows down

shorts

toe freedom

smooth legs

days in the park

reading outside

ice cream

walking to las paletas

warm weather music

wearing dresses with no tights static

savoring the walk to class rather than hunching over miserably

the feeling of laying on a blanket with the sun on your face

dandelions

sigh. until then, i'll be dreaming of pastels and floaty dresses and pretty fabrics and listening to this counting down til i get to go to sunny savannah with my mom in three days.
